Someday

Someday I'll be okay,

Someday I'll be able to tell everyone who I am.

Someday I'll be able to speak my mind,

And not be afraid of the repercussions.

Someday you'll see,

Someday everyone will see,

The person they missed out on.

You'll be kicking yourself,

Regretting your actions,

I won't be around to care.

Someday I'll like me for me,

Someday I'll know what I'm worth,

And never settle for less.

Someday I won't say sorry,

For the things I didn't do.

The things I have no reason...

To even be sorry for.

Someday I'll have peace.

Someday I'll understand.

Someday,

Someday,

Someday,

Somewhere south of never.

If I told you the truth would you stay?

If I told you come would you jump?

Could you open your eyes and listen?

Would you love me the same?

Or would my name leave your lips,

And my memory leave your brain?

I could hold out forever.

I could pretend for a lifetime.

None of that would do me justice,

None of that would make me happy.

So I'll stand on the precipice of what I want to tell you.

And what you want to hear,

Until someday...

When I have the nerve to stand,

Even if I'm standing alone.

Someday may never come,

You may never understand.

You might stand still.

But here I am and here I'll stay,

Waiting for someday to set me free.
